Launched in August of 2021, “Anansi Goes To Hospital” is the first in a series of six books that tracks the journey of the Anansi character, an avid footballer in the forest, who is injured during practice and is subsequently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma – cancer of the bone. This book series is primarily geared toward children aged 6-10 years old but they are written and illustrated in a manner that will captivate and educate older siblings and adults alike.

Designed to bring greater awareness of childhood cancer, it is based on the author’s experience with her son Jabez ‘JB’ Joseph who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (cancer of the muscle) in 2005 at the age of 3 1⁄2 years old and succumbed to his illness at 5 1⁄2 years old.
