A biography of Dom Basil Matthews, the First Black Monk of the Benedictine Order in Trinidad and Tobago. He pursued studies in Philosophy, Theology and the Social Studies at the University of Louvain. He obtained his MA in Anthropology and Sociology and Phd from the Catholic University of Fordham in the United States. He became a well-known figure intellectually, socially, ecclesiastically, educationally and politically in the United States and the Caribbean. – Mr Patrick Edwards
